Sub Rosa renvoie au travail de mise en exergue et de recyclage d'une réalité déjà là. Durant l'été 2000, Lara Almarcegui, Olivier Dollinger, Serge Lhermitte et Michael Van Den Abeele ont sillonné les régions d'Alsace et de Lorraine pour puiser la matière première de leur travail dans un vaste territoire - physique, social et humain - inconnu d'eux jusqu'alors. Le temps d'une résidence d'artistes, un échange inédit se sera instauré entre les artistes, invités à interpréter suivant leur propre langage une réalité transfigurée, et les collectivités qui leur ont offert cette opportunité et cette source d'inspiration.

Sub rosa refers to the use of an existing material, underlining or recycling a reality that is already there. During the summer 2000, Lara Almarcegui, Olivier Dollinger, Serge Lhermitte and Michael Van den Abeele have crossed the regions of the Alsace and Lorraine in order to draw material for their work from a vast geography - physical, social, human... - which was previously unknown to them. It matters little whether one speaks of art in terms of poetry or evasion, or as a magnificent relief which allows us to better grasp reality, the working context has furnished numerous sources of inspiration for invited artists.
