Most of the world's nations want to integrate children with special educational needs into mainstream schools. This publication recounts the progress made in including these pupils in regular schools, and provides examples of successful integration of special and inclusive education. Integration can only be effective if governments, schools and teachers modify policies, practices and attitudes.
