Depuis une dizaine d'années, Sergio Vega développe, autour de la notion de « tropicalisme » et du mythe - sans cesse réinventé - du paradis terrestre, un ambitieux projet artistique pluridisciplinaire intitulé Le Paradis dans le Nouveau Monde.

Ce livre réunit un ensemble de photographies prises par l'artiste dans une partie du Mato Grosso, au Brésil, qui doivent être comprises comme autant de descriptions du paradis, et de textes inédits de Sergio Vega, extraits de son journal de voyage.

For some ten years now Sergio Vega has been developing an ambitious multidisciplinary artistic project called Paradise in the New World , around the notion of « tropicalism » and the endlessly reinvented myth of earthly paradise.

This book features a group of photographs shot by the artist in a section of Mato Grosso, Brazil, that should be interpreted as depictions of paradise, and of unpublished texts by Sergio Vega, excerpts from his travel diary.
