Under current policies, fossil fuels (oil, natural gas and coal) are expected to continue to meet close to 90% of global energy demand for decades to come. In particular, the countries with dynamic growth in Asia are likely to dramatically increase their use of locally produced fossil fuels as they pursue economic development objectives.
