New and improved technologies will be an indispensable part of efforts to meet the objectives of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (FCCC). To respond to this challenge in a cost-effective way 23 OECD Member countries announced the Climate Technology Initiative (CTI) at the 1995 Berlin Conference of the Parties to the FCCC.
