Fuelwood, agricultural residues, animal waste, charcoal, and other derived fuels, referred to as biomass energy, currently account for about 14% of world energy consumption. Biomass is the main source ofenergy for many developing countries and most of it is non-commercial. Hence there is enormous difficulty in collecting reliable biomass energy data.
