This is the first publication of the translation of Youenn Drezen's novela from Breton to English. It relates the experiences of a young Breton novice in a monastery in Spain in the early 20^th Century.

The novice Brother Arturo has been given the task of cleaning the monastery Chapel of St. Francisco in Miranda de Ebro. One day, a young woman called Palmira comes to pray in the Chapel and the novice notices her. This leads to great soul searching and mental anguish on his behalf... This is one of Youenn Drezen's greatest works, based on his own experiences in seminary, which radically changed his life for ever.
