PK War Reporters of the Third Reich

The Propagandakompanien, the German propaganda companies were used as a communication tool by the Third Reich. These servicemen of the Wehrmacht and the Waffen-SS were the eyes and ears of the Nazi Propaganda Ministry. They spread news of victories as well as defeats.

Although their photographs and films are well-known, almost nothing has been revealed about the photographers, cameramen, and technicians behind the cameras.

This volume presents how this psychological arm was created from an organizational, a technical, and a human point of view. Thanks to an abundance of unpublished documentation, we are able to present the propaganda companies of the Wehrmacht, focusing particularly on Six Luftwaffe Pk.

Also, thanks to testimonies given by reporters, the campaigns in Poland, Norway, France, and the beginning of the Russia Campaign are discussed.
