Guidelines for Fire Extinguishing Systems Planning and Installation
These Guidelines give the requirements for planning, installation, and maintenance of stationary CO<sub>2</sub> fire extinguishing systems (in the following called extinguishing system) when used for the protection of buildings, industrial manufacturing plants, and as an extension or modification of the existing system.
The requirements and recommendations of these Guidelines are also applicable to any addition, extension, repair, maintenance, or other modification of theexisting system.
These guidelines specify the requirements for carbon dioxide (in the following CO<sub>2</sub>) stored as a liquid under pressure and discharged as a gas.
They have been developed by prevention bodies, under the initiative of the insurers or their representatives grouped at European level in the Insurance Europe Prevention Forum.
The prevention bodies are :
