Non-observance of international rules and standards relating to maritime safety and the protection of the marine environment pays off and disturbs competition among shipping companies. This was demonstrated by OECD Member countries in assessing the financial advantages linked to the non-observance of agreed applicable international rules and standards as outlined in this report.
