The area has so many exceptional sites, from Bort-les-Orgues where the lava flowing from the Cantal volcanoes has left monumental columns, to the Luzège valley, the amazing panoramas of Le Busatier and Gratte-Bruyère on the road to Les Ajustants, a vast heritage of landscape of the greatest importance awaits you. Nature tamed by dams, spectacular viaducts where the little train used to carry so many passengers without forgetting the brave bargees whso navigated on the impetuous river towards Aquitaine for trade.

However, do not be mistaken, the wild character of the place does not imply a hard atmosphere. On the contrary, the soft micro-climate favours walks on the paths between gorges and forests and architectural discoveries, Sédières Château, Val Château... The scenery and colour, views over the Auvergne mountains, fast-flowing streams and lakes for wonderful fishing, a

little like the fjords of Norway, give a real feeling of being in another place.
