We are delighted to present the 2012 edition of the Michelin guide Tokyo Yokohama Shonan and to celebrate our 5th anniversary in Japan. In this year's guide you will see that we have expanded our coverage of the Shonan area.

Once again, our team of Michelin inspectors has spent the year conducting anonymous visits in order to bring you the best restaurants. All the restaurants in this guide have been awarded the renowned Michelin stars (* to ***) for the exceptional quality of their cuisine.

With more Michelin starred restaurants than any other city, Tokyo is now regarded as the gourmet capital of the world.

Our inspectors have taken budgetary factors into account and so look out too for our (...) symbol which points out restaurants in which one can eat for 5,000 yen or less.
