International Conference on Biological Understanding and Theory of Mind : Core Knowledge and Naive Conceptions in Children and Adults.

June 3-5, 2009, Reims, France

The Laboratory CLEA (EA-4296) of the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne is pleased to welcome all attendees to the International Conference on Biological Understanding and Theory of Mind held in June, 3-5, 2009. This Conference was inspired by support from the French Agence Nationale de la Recherche (ANR) for our research program on children's early biological conceptions. We have sought to bring together researchers who are well known for their work in the area with younger colleagues, particularly PhD students. Three specialists in conceptual development have accepted our invitation to give a plenary lecture : Susan Gelman on multiple explanatory models of illness, Simone Nguyen on « food for thought » and Michael Siegal on children's conceptions of the edible-inedible distinction. We are very grateful for their participation.
