Recent trends in international migration during the second half of the 1990s confirm the slowdown in inflows which began in 1993. Yet, immigration remains a major concern of OECD countries. Extension of the process of globalisation is creating the conditions favourable to increased factor mobility and therefore to the diversification of migration flows.
