With ageing road infrastructure and sustained traffic growth the maintenance and rehabilitation of road and motorway networks require increased funding. Adequate allocation and distribution of available resources are therefore a key policy issue. The goals are to preserve the value of the road asset, provide improved service to road users and assure long term environmental sustainability.
