Le handicap dans les contextes africains ne pourrait pas être compris sans référence à la technologie de la vie journalière, en termes de mobilité et de transport, d'éducation, et d'interventions médicales. Ceci apporte une perspective humaine et sociale sur le handicap parce qu'il contextualise la technologie dans un cadre d'usagers, d'inventeurs, de producteurs et de distributeurs. La technologie dans les contextes africains demande ainsi une compréhension des pratiques culturelles et de l'innovation culturelle, sur le plan local et international. Les exemples sont tirés de la RD Congo et aussi de pays anglophones.

Disability and technology in african contexts

Disability in African contexts can hardly be understood without reference to the technology of daily life, in terms of mobility and transportation, learning, and medical interventions. It brings a human and social perspective to disability because it contextuares technology in the framework of users, inventors, producers, and distributors. Technology in the African contexts requires an understanding of cultural practices and innovation at the local and international levels. This book provides examples from the DR Congo and also from Anglophone countries.
