Le cycle de formation approfondie du CIHEAM ou cycle Master of

Science (MSc) s'étend sur deux années académiques. Le première

année a comme objectif l'acquisition des connaissances dans un

domaine spécifique : la deuxième est consacrée à la réalisation d'un

travail d'initiation à la recherche ou à l'activité professionnelle permettant

l'application critique des connaissances, techniques et

méthodes acquises. Ce cycle est proposé aux candidats titulaires du

diplôme d'enseignement exigé dans leurs pays d'origine pour y

entreprendre des études doctorales.

A l'issue du cycle de spécialisation de première année, le candidat

ayant obtenu avec la mention "cum laude" le diplôme de

Spécialisation Post-Universitaire (DSPU) peut être admis en

deuxième année. Il bénéficie d'un enseignement complémentaire

(cours, travaux pratiques, séminaires...). Au cours de cette deuxième

année, il doit effectuer un travail personnel original conduisant à la

rédaction d'une thèse qui est soutenue devant un jury international.

Ce travail peut avoir lieu à la suite d'accords avec d'autres institutions

ou universités.

Ciheam's in-depth training course, or Master of Science degree

(MSc), is of two years' duration. The first year aims at providing

knowledge in a specific field. The second year is devoted to a programme

meant to be an initiation to research work or to future professional

activities, allowing the critical application of the

knowledge, technics and methods acquired during the first year. This

course is offered to those holding the teaching diploma required in

their own countries for undertaking a doctoral programme.

On completion of the first year of specialization, those to whom the

Post-graduate Specialization Diploma (DSPU) has been awarded

with the mention Cum Laude can enrol for the second year. They

benefit from a complementary training (courses, training through a

practicum, seminars). During this second year, they have to undertake

personal work of an original kind resulting in a thesis to be

defended in the presence of an international jury. The work leading

to the final thesis can be achieved in another institution or university

with which certain agreements have to be previously arranged.
