Renowned the world over thanks to its exceptional natural setting, reputed for its healthy climate - to such an extent that it is said that, « In Étretat, hundred year-olds only die from carelessness, » - Étretat is a village born from the sea, loved by artists and appreciated by the Belle Époque high society. Alphonse Karr brought its fortune, Guy de Maupassant - who came to live there - rendered it fashionable, and Maurice Leblanc immortalised it through his fictional character Arsène Lupin.
