The OECD recovery has brought with it employment growth and a small fall in unemployment. But the problems of high and persistent unemployment in many countries, and widening income inequality in some, remain serious. In June 1994 the OECD Jobs Study: Facts, Analysis, Strategies drew up the main planks of a balanced mix of policies to reduce unemployment and boost employment.
