Swiss law of contracts : general principles

Small country, big reach. The scope of Swiss contract law has long since extended beyond the narrow confines of Switzerland to many international business partners who choose it to govern their contractual relations. One of the reasons for this choice is the (relative) simplicity and stability of its rules. In this line, this book intends to present the general principles of Swiss contract law, in the simplest and most concise way possible and to do so in the language that transcends as it unites Swiss lawyers : English. The reader will thus only find here the principles and rules well established by the law and the Swiss Supreme Court's case law. The author's personal positions are deliberately kept to a minimum and clearly identifiable, and controversial points are only mentioned.
This book is intended for people who wish to familiarize themselves with Swiss contract law, whether they are practitioners or lawyers from different legal traditions or students from all horizons.
A bibliography limited to the « major » traditional works on Swiss law of obligations completes the book.
