Born in 1938, Andrea Branzi lives

and works in Milan. Actor in

the Italian radical movement,

in the group Alchimia and then

in Memphis, Branzi worked to

free design from the tyranny

of the industrial object and the

standard, to provide it with

powers of resonance and of

evocation. This opened the way

to the multiplicity of forms which

are today accepted as being

design. The city is Branzi's preferred

field of observation and the

human, his first concern. A strong

and unique creative path, in the

heart of the history and design of

the Twentieth and Twenty-first

centuries. Branzi's works are

collected by museums all over

the world.
