Heart-made : the cutting-edge of Chinese contemporary architecture : exposition, Bruxelles, Espace-architecture La Cambre, 15 octobre 2009-21 février 2010

This book is the latest contribution to the debate on contemporary
Chinese avant-garde architecture, introducing the changes and
tendencies that have led to the rise of China's new generation of
architects during the most eye-catching decade from 1999 to 2009.
The Chinese city is revealed through four 'itineraries' and fifty
projects: 'Live Architecture' refers to recent projects or those still
underway; 'Digital Architecture' presents cities of the future using
digital design; 'Video Architecture' shows buildings or cities using
computer-generated images; and 'Sound Art' includes projects
by architects and artists working closely together, giving a varied
perspective which allows a better understanding of today's China.
This lavishly illustrated book is based on the exhibition Heart-Made
The Cutting-Edge of Chinese Contemporary Architecture organized
for europalia.china by Fang Zhenning, a well-known Chinese
architecture and art critic, and Christophe Pourtois and Marcelle
Rabinowicz, the curators from the CIVA (International Centre for
Urbanism, Architecture and Landscape) in Belgium.
