Puis le mâle tend le cou, lève le museau, écarquille les naseaux, souffle encore, reprend de l'air et chante. Il brame, mais j'aime mieux dire qu'il chante. Il emplit le théâtre de son appel farouche. Il devient la voix de la forêt.

Then the buck stretches his neck, raises his muzzle, widens his nostrils, breathes out again, takes in more air and sings. He bellows, but i would rather say he sings. He fills the theatre with his ardent call. He becomes the voice of the forest.
