« Le fils des quatre vents », ainsi se qualifiait lui-même Georges Condominas. Il a été le maître de tous les ethnologues de l'Asie du Sud-Est. Il a produit un des chefs-d'oeuvre de l'ethnographie française : Nous avons mangé la forêt (1957).

Homme de savoir et de sagesse, il reçoit ici l'hommage d'un collectif de ses amis et fidèles de par le monde.

« The son of the four winds », as Georges Condominas called himself, was the master of all those who had made studies in Southeastern Asia. His book We Have Eaten the Forest (1957) is regarded as one of the masterpieces of french ethnography.

The present book originates from the will of a group of people, joined by friendship and respect for him, to partly repay what that great scholar and wise man gave them.
