Ce volume réunit deux contributions nées avec des intentions différentes, mais toutes deux consacrées à la céramique hellénistique de la région d'Alexandrie. Le matériel inédit présenté ici provient des fouilles effectuées par le CEAlex au centre-ville, sur les sites de l'ex-Consulat britannique et du Cricket Ground, et hors d'Alexandrie, par la mission italienne sur l'île de Nelson (MAIA), et par la mission française dans la nécropole de Plinthine (MAFTP). Dans la première partie, on s'est attaché à définir la datation et les modalités de la naissance d'un artisanat céramique au sein de la nouvelle capitale et dans sa chôra , entre la fin du IV^e et le milieu du III^e siècle av. J.-C., et la nature des importations. Dans la seconde partie, une sélection d'assemblages dans le matériel céramique du Cricket Ground a permis d'établir une séquence chronologique dont les jalons couvrent, à intervalles d'un quart de siècle, les III^e et II^e siècles av. J.-C., et illustrent ainsi l'évolution du faciès alexandrin.

This volume brings together two contributions born of different intentions but which are both dedicated to Hellenistic pottery of the Alexandria region. The previously unpublished material presented herein comes from excavations conducted by the CEAlex in the centre of Alexandria on the sites of the former British Consulate and the Cricket Ground, and from excavations outside the city conducted by the Italian mission on Nelson's Island (MAIA) and by the French team in the necropolis of Plinthine (MAFTP). In the first part we endeavour to define the dating and the manner of the birth of a ceramic industry within the new capital and its chora between the end of the 4^th and the mid-3^rd century bc, along with the nature of any imports. In the second part, a selection of assemblages in the ceramic material of the Cricket Ground has led to the establishment of a chronological sequence that marks out the 3^rd and 2^nd centuries BC in 25-year intervals and thus illustrates the evolution of Alexandrian features.
