There are two main types of word-stress in English. Both of them are based on Latin stress system.

The aim of this work is to present these two word-stress types, which are confirmed and exemplified by nearly exhaustive lists, in an approach which is completely different from those in previous studies.

This manual offers the student, the professor of English and the English-speaker the answer to unsolved questions concerning word-stress in English.
