In the debut edition of the Michelin Guide Los Angeles, our professional inspectors have combed the area anonymously and recommended the best restaurants and hotels the LA area has to offer, for any occasion or budget.
There are two important aspects to the Michelin rating system :
First is the classification (...).
- Restaurants are classified by number of (...). These indicate an establishment's comfort according to criteria that include the décor, ambience, table settings and quality of service.
- The system ranges from (...) for a modest establishment to (...) for the most luxurious.
Second is Michelin's time-honored star system, which rates restaurants according to the quality of the cuisine.
(...) One star indicates a very good restaurant in its category.
(...) Two stars mean excellent cuisine that is worth a detour.
(...) Three stars award exceptional cuisine that merits a special journey.
